I have an image of a square negative carrier frame that I plan to show around all my images in a slideshow that I am creating. I have Zoom to Fill Frame checked so that all the images fit within the frame. I want to be able to reposition each image within the frame, but the identity plate is always active, so that when I click and drag on the image, the frame moves instead of the image. How can I deactivate the selection of the identity plate so that I can move the image? For the same reason, when I move the guides, the identity plate moves also.

Thank you!

Hi Laura!

If the identity plate is covering the entire image area then you will either have to temporarily uncheck the identity plate checkbox in the Overlays panel, reposition the image, recheck the box OR grab on of the plates handles, shrink it just enough so you can click on the image outside of the plate, then you can reposition and rescale the plate.

You only need the slightest sliver of the image outside the plate in order to move it around.
