Sorry if this has already been asked. I did a quick scan for a thread on this but didn't see one.

I'm using CS2 and have little interest in upgrading to CS4 at this time. I just purchased a Canon 5'D. I had planned on buying LR 2 but I want to make sure that I will be able to send images directly from LR2 to CS2 without having to save the file first. I like having the raw file and the .psd file. I can tolerate saving my file as a psd from LR and then opening it in CS2, but that would slow my workflow.

So, will LR 2 send my image to CS2 without saving it as a psd first?

Thanks

No, I don't believe you can send a file direct to CS2 as you want, you will get the choice of sending a PSD or TIFF.

It is true that LR2 will send a PSD (or a TIFF) to CS2, but I don't believe it will slow your workflow down. This is because when you choose "Edit in CS2" in LR2, LR2 creates the PSD from your RAW for you (by default appending "-Edit" to the RAW filename), optionally adds it to your LR2 catalog, and then opens CS2 for you with your PSD loaded.
So, more or less one mouse-click will do what you want.

HTH.

Thanks for the responses. I downloaded LR2 to give it a try and saw that when I send the image to CS2 it saves the file out as a psd first. This is exactly what I hoped it would do.
