I am relatively new to LR but an experienced PS user. In generally I make large prints (24 x 3') one at a time for exhibitions. To upsize my files in PS I use bicubic or bicubic smoother and occasionally blowup by alien skin.

My question is how can I upsize in LR? I have created a large paper size and just moved the cell size sliders to fill that page with the image but I have no idea what is going on behind the scenes. What interpolation method is being used and is there a way I can do this manually like in the image size dialogue box in PS?

Thanks

Welcome to Lightroom Forums!

LR will automatically upsize if you click the "constrain" box on Export, and specify a size that's larger than the image. It uses Lanczos (but in linear space, unlike Lanczos in PS).

I don't think upsizing photos is possible in Lightroom, except in the Export Module. Just fill in the size you want the photos to be, and remember that you switch off the 'Don't enlarge' option. It is probably better to use PS for this..
