How do I update LR classic to M1 chip with Big Sur? Do I have to uninstall the old version?

At present there is no version of Lightroom Classic specific to using the M1 architecture. Lightroom will run in the Rosetta compatibility environment . At such time when Adobe develops compile code that will run in native M1 Architecture, there will probably be a separate compile just like there are separate compiles for MacOS (intel) and Windows (Intel)
