The other day I cropped my images to a locked 8x1' format and printed them to file.

I didn't notice the borders as my previewer didn't show them (white background).

However, when they came back from the printer, they were really odd, as you see here.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get all four sides flush to the edge? In other words, how to get ride of the white border.

This is how the file looks in preview:

This is how the file looks printed, one side was printed flush to the paper edge

Chris, cropped to 8x1', and printed on 8x1', correct? So that the actual printed region is smaller than 8x1'?

When you say 'this is what the image looks like in preview', what 'preview' is that? Within Lr's print module, or another application?

Sorry Brad, let me clarify...the first image here is what the files look like after LR processing, using the 'Print to File' option. These are being viewed in IrfanView, I did a screen capture of them on my screen.

I submitted them to the printer, and they came back just as you in the 2nd print, the physical size of the print is 8x1', but lots of wasted space w/ the border on 3 sides.

Okay then. What settings did you use in Lr's print module? Particularly, did you choose 'Zoom to Fill'?

I wonder if the printer driver was set to letter size, 8-1/2x11, and you printed an 8x1' cell? That seems about the proportion of white space we're seeing there. Even tho' you've chosen 'print to file' check the settings in 'Page Setup ...' at bottom of Left Hand Panel. Choose a driver that allows you to use an 8"x1'" page size.

hmmm, I'll try to check tonight, I don't think I used "Zoom to Fill".

Well, tried it again, and still 'no go'. This was for 4x6...

I verified that I selected 'Zoom to Fill' and 'Custom Size' (see lower left hand corner) of 4x6.

Here's the output file, as viewed in IrfanView...you can see the white border(s).

Chris, at the bottom of the right hand panel is the Page Setup... dialog. Are you choosing a paper size in that dialog?
The only way I can come close to your result is choosing 5x7 in the Page Setup dialog, and then using a 4x6 cell in the Picture Package mode, then Printing to JPEG. Thus:

I think I fixed it (w/ some help over at Nikon Cafe).

I had to set margins to ' manually and set Cell Size to 4x6 as well...

thanks!

Read the manual Chris!!!
Ha, ha I fixed at the Nikon Café, us gurus are here, there, every b---- where!! ;) ;)
