I recently purchased a Canon 4'D and tried to import some files into Lightroom. I got the following error message - "The following files were not imported. The files use an unsupported color mode." My camera color space is set to sRGB. I am a serious amature at both photography and digital imaging software. Can anyone tell me why I am getting this message? Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the forum JSB!

Best guess - which version of LR are you using? You'd need at least 1.2 for standard 4'd raw, or 1.3.1 for sRAW. They're free updates. 1.4 is a fairly solid update (except for a DNG bug for Windows which is causing trouble)

Thanks Victoria - I had not updated my Lightroom version. I've updated and the photo are now importing without any problems.

Great news JSB!

how to install the new download

I'm a newbie to LR and have 1.'. Found this post and see I need to download 1.1, which is on my desktop; I've followed the install instructions. I don't know how to "get" it into lightroom. LR still won't recognize my raw images. Can you help? thank you!

Mac OSX 1'.4.11

If the LR package is on the desktop you just click it and then follow instructions.

How did you download the LR update?
Typically OSX will automatically install downloaded packages.

I'd suggest you start by downloading 1.4.1 from Adobe; your 1.' serial number will work with it. I don't remember exactly when the 4'D came out and which versions of Lightroom support it, but you might as well start with the most recent 1.x version.
