Catalogs unexpected error opening catalog LR6

LR 6.0 Permanent PC version. Just switching to LRCC Also have Elements 14.

Help! Out of the blue my working catalog has suddenly left the building! No backups are found and even though I have the thumbnails a search of my drives can't come up with the photos from that particular lrcat. I am working on a project and need to be able to access the photos. Even the jpg shots are not found. Any assistance will be appreciated.

Oh dear Mike, sorry to hear that. Catalogs and backups don't usually spontaneously combust unless there's a hardware problem, so think about what happened just before it all disappeared. Were you doing a bit of tidying up perhaps? Do you know where it was stored?
