Sometimes (actually not only often, but outright all the time) I want to undo not only one step but some of them. I have not found a function for this. I find myself COMMAND-Z-ing.

Am I missing something? Should I post this under 'feature requests'?

Cheers,
Joerg

Just click on the history position you want to be at and carry on from there. It will erase then the steps above. Or if you want to finish at the selected position just leave it selected.
Of course you can use snapshots at that position or a VC

It would be great if you would submit a feature request. I've submitted similar requests, like the ability to eliminate steps or sets of steps from the middle of the history, and the ability to "collapse" the history to the minimal steps required to get from the Import state to the current state. The more of us requesting this sort of thing, the more likely it is to happen.

Geoff: thanks a lot for the tips. Shall try them out soon.

Mark: very good point indeed. Good idea the thought of a collapse function. You know, when I e.g. crop or straighten out a photo, I end up with a whole lot of history entries for which it would be cool to be combined. This is just one example. Goes for many operations.
