Unable to "Export as Catelog..."

I'm trying to create a backup by using the Export as Catelog... function but I keep getting the message "Lightroom was unable to export the catelog." Any ideas what could be causing this?
I have the Jeffrey Friedl export to SmugMug plugin but disabling it didn't help.
BTW, it's spelt "catelogue" in real English but to each his own.

[/quote]I don't have any issues exporting to catalogs or catalogues either. Quite possibly it is a file/folder permissions issue. Are you sure you have write permissions for the location wher you are trying to create a catalog(ue)?

(Why use a long word when a short word will do?)

I've tried exporting to various locations that normally take exports when I'm exporting simple photos. Is the catalogue too large (1,'''+ files) or too complex perhaps?

Point taken about the spelling. Serves me right for trying to be a smart arse.

It must have been a temporary glitch. I did a bit of cleaning, defragging and optimising and rebooted and now it seems to be working again so I'll give it a thorough trial and report back if it is still a problem. Thanks for the comments.
