Hello,
I have happily been using Lightroom since it came out and use version 1.4. At the beginning of this year, I was enticed to trial the version 3 beta (now 3.2) so have run both since. This worked fairly well as I can access old images through 1.4, newer ones through 3.2 (although the web upload problems with 3.2 meant that I could only use 1.4 to upload to my website).
I recently tried to move all of my images from my hard drive to two external hard drives. After doing this (and I don't know whether it was a direct result of), I was unable to access 1.4.
The box reads: ‘Microsft Visual C++ runtime library: runtime error etc.
I have attempted to repair via Add or Remove Programs and am told that ‘The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable…’ and asks me to enter a location for Adobe_Lightroom.msi. I have searched my computer but this is not present anywhere.
Please help! How do I open 4.1?
If it helps, my Lightroom file in My Pictures contains:
Backup folder
Lightroom 3 Catalog-2 Previews.lrdata folder
Temporary folder
Lightroom 3 Catalog.lrcat file
Lightroom 3 Catalg-2 lrcat file
Lightroom Catalg lrcat file
Also, while I’m here... when I eventually buy version 3, how do I upgrade my images from 1.4 so I can work on them? And when will 3 be available to buy?
I have basic IT skills picked up from scouring the web but please do not assume I know anything and be as clear as possible in your response.
