This is a modification of the selection gallery that allows selections to be made and individual comments left for each image. I'm releasing it as a beta now for several reasons:

1) I don't have time at the moment to put together a proper download page.

2) I hacked up my selection gallery to make this, and I might have missed something, somewhere.

3) I'd like to solicit feedback.

Installation and setup are the same as for the TTG Selection Gallery. Please give this a try and let me know how it works for you - whether Windows users hit any errors using sliders, whether things are flexible enough, whether any controls seem to be missing, or whether you think anything should be added, removed, etc., etc., etc.

Also, I'm not sure about the name. Candidates have been TTG Selection Gallery II, TTG Selection Gallery B, TTG Selection Gallery With Comments, TTG Comments Gallery, TTG Feedback Gallery ... any favorites? Any suggestions?

Download TTG Feedback Gallery (beta).

Will download and have a look. Just one question about the original. Is it possible to add the file name under the image or is this in this version?

Easternherp,

You can set the Filename under the thumbnail by using the Annotation, controls found in the Image Info pane.

As for this beta, filenames are in there by default. This is an early look at what will hopefully end up being a more robust selection gallery. Given the lack of feeback so far, I'm guessing either everything is okay, or no one cares. Hoping for the former. ;)

Matthew, you're not getting feedback from me, only because I can't keep up with you. You're developing stuff faster than I can d/l it.....

But we all appreciate the effort and dedication .....brad s

It's a phase. I'll get busy or bored and won't make anything else for months. I've just got some time now that I've finished off some client projects, and thought I'd get to work on all the LR project ideas I've got bouncing around my head. It won't last. ;)

I've had a quick look Matthew and it looks ok, now can you design websites?? I definitely need one now and no nothing!!:lol:

Thanks Matthew,

I had a quick look at home last night and it seems to do what it says on the tin. I had one crash though when I tried to click on metadata only within the image settings. I got the wheel of death and had to force quit. Haven't tried it again as ran out of time.
Keep up the good work.

Gallery features

I'm making good progress on this gallery, and hoping you'll all be satisfied with the results. I wanted to take this opportunity to share what I have in mind for the finished product, and to ask a couple of questions of you, the users.

First of all, I've decided to name the gallery TTG Client Feedback Gallery. The idea is that the gallery should be a selection gallery on steroids.

Features will/should include:

  • FormToEmail powered deliver for client feedback
  • Slimbox-driven large image previews
  • Thumbnail annotations
  • Thumbnail tokens for numerical ratings and color labels
  • Selection checkboxes
  • Individual comment areas for each image
  • Client assignable ratings
  • Third-rendition, downloadable large-size images*
  • Input areas for name, email address and general comments
  • Valid XHTML, CSS, etc. as is the norm for TTG galleries
* Standard galleries typically offer two image renditions, a thumbnail and a larger image for viewing. The third rendition will offer options for a third size of image, downloadable by the client.

Now, I require input from you.

1. On the matter of third-rendition images. The image should be saved using a right-click. The preservation of form input data requires that the third-rendition download link NOT load the Jpeg into the parent window when left-clicked. In order to prevent accidental loss of data from left-clicking, we have two options:
a. Load the third-rendition into a Slimbox overlay on left-click.
b. Load the third-rendition into a new browser window on left-click.

Which option is preferable?

2. Are there any other client response features not listed that users would like to see in this gallery?

Thanks for the feedback,
Matt

Matt,

I would prefer a. to question 1, although I wouldn't necessarily want clients to be able to download a hi res image so would most probably not want this option.

Andrew

I've had requests from other users to include the feature, so it's going in. However, you can always scale down the third rendition to match the mid-size rendition. Also, I'll try to include an option to hide the download link. Need to play with it, though.

Or could you add an option in not to include a third image?
knowing nothing about the programming or web side of things.

Andrew

Well, I can't think of any way to prevent the third image from being generated other than to drop it from the gallery. But if the download link is hidden, it will be inaccessible. The other option would be to release two versions of the gallery, one with the third rendition and one without.

I have been looking for something like this for ages, please keep up the good work!

I would use this for client previews only, and would really prefer an option to disable the third hi-res image.

Thanks!

Hello and many thanks for all your fantastic and useful plugins.

For the TTG Feedbacks and TTG Client Response, could we allow large files to be exported as tiff ? or could we edit the plugin to specify the type of file format, size and resolution ?

All the best !

As far as I know, Laurentsj, the Web module only puts out JPGs.

The feedback gallery evolved into the Client Response Gallery, though. Any discussion on either should be posted in the other thread.

In fact, if a mod wouldn't mind closing this thread, that be awesome. :)
