Trouble writing IPTC data in LR

Hi! My name is Per and I'm new to this forum.

I have problems writing certain IPTC information to my images on my main workstation. Most of the fields work fine but Caption and Title just won't keep anything I write to them. I type the text, press enter, looking good. Soon as I move on to the next image, it disapears! It only happens with these two fields (although there are some others I haven't tried yet), but the rest seem to work fine. My normal metadata presets like name, copyright etc. show up allright.
Also, it seems like this problem is kept to images imported from my camera, while scanned images seem to work (so far that is, I seldom use my scanner so it may have changed). I get a sort of standard preset on those images reading "Olympus Digital Camera" in the Caption field.
Now if I try to edit the metadata in Bridge or Elements it seems to work, but it doesn't seem like LR keeps those presets. Also, the LR copy on my laptop seem to work fine, I can edit any metadata without problem and it sticks.
I'm not entirely sure if this problem was present with LR2.3, but I did have some woes (lockups and poor performance) after upgrading to LR2.4, if that can be a scource of error.

Anybody got a hint on how to fix this issue? And what causes it?

Welcome to Lightroom Forums, Per.

I'm confused abut what you're seeing. If you apply a Caption or Title, then move to the next image, then back to the first one, the Caption or Title is gone? Or it's there, but doesn't show up when you export?

Sorry, it's late here so I guess my description got a bit confusing.

It's like what you first wrote; I fill out the Caption and Title fields, move on to the next image and if I go back, the information is gone. Usually the "Olympus Digital Camera" message apperars in the Caption field, if it wasn't there from the beginning. Title field remains blank.
