Hi everyone,

So I have a batch of photos I want to rename.
I have done some edits on some of the raw files in photoshop, so the PSD's are stacked with their respective RAW files in my Lightroom Grid, with a "filename-Edit" as usual.
When renaming the whole set with a custom name-numeric sequence, my PSD files no longer share the same number with their respective raw files like they used to. Instead of having, for example DSC_'1.NEF and DSC_'1-Edit.psd, I now get NewName-'1.NEF and NewName-'2.psd.
I would like lightroom to batch rename and maintain the same filename between the associated PSD and NEFs.

anyway to solve this when batch renaming?

Thanks

I've had this happen to me also. To work around this I do this:

- expand all stacks
- filter the NEF files
- rename the NEF files
- remove the filter

Now for all PSD files I do a manual rename. As I don't have too many PSD files this doesn't take to much time.

2 other options:

1. Rename before you create the PSD's

2. The alternative is to use data that's in both files - i.e. use the date rather than a sequence number.
