Transfer Catalogue from Old Computer to New One?

I used Lightroom 1.3 on my old computer, which crashed last weekend. I have a full backup on a separate hard drive, including my photos (about 5''') and a failry recent backup of the Lightroom catalogue .
I installed Lightroom on my new computer and transferred the pictures from the backup drive to the new computer, but I haven't imported the pictures into Lightroom. Is there any way to import the old catalogue to the new computer so that I don't have to re-enter all the keywords, picture adjustments, etc...or do I have to start over and re-import all the photos into Lightroom on my new computer?

If you place the photos in the same location as on the old PC you can just open the backup catalog and all should be OK.

Also, isn't it possible to hook the old HDD to your new PC and copy the data to your new PC.

You can relink files in the backup catalog (duplicate it!) even if they've moved, but it's certainly easiest if they're in the same kind of hierarchy.

If you need to relink, folders will turn red, and you can just right click > locate missing folder and show it the new location of that folder.

So thankfully you don't have to do it all again!!!
