An additional 1.4 problem seems to have raised it's head as well.

JPEG exports from LR 1.4 are exhibiting some weirdness in the time metadata.

It's reported at the LR U2U forums:

Pay attention, if date/time data is important to your immediate processing.

(thanks to guru Rob Sylvan for the reference!)

Yep. Just exported one image as JPG and I see this as well. Dang...

I just exported a few to JPG and EXIF time data is in tact.

I'm guessing this is because I'm not yet using DNG... was getting ready to downgrade to 1.3.1 but I may hold out a few days and see what happens.

I get the time thing on export. When I import as DNG I get the error mess., cant not export as a jpeg from dng. No problem before 1.4. Got my fingers cross it is fix soon.

Actually Sean, I thought I wasn't seeing it because it looks okay in Photoshop and Lightroom reimport.. that's because both read the XMP date, not the actual EXIF date which is wrong.
Get info from Preview to see the wrong time.

Hmm, you're a mind reader Sean, how'd you know I was looking at that in PS? Yep, you're right, the time is zeros. Dang, was going to wait to downgrade, but thinking I'll just do it now. Should have just trusted my instincts and normal procedure and not let the update run in the first place! Arg.

Thanks, and Cheers!

Sean

The update is generally fine Sean, unless you have a specific issue with the export time.

Personally, it makes little difference to me. The other issue is writing to XMP in Raw files, but I don't really use that feature anyway.. (DNG issue is a PC one)

I'm still using RAW plus XMP, that will change, but I'm still wanting to look at some of my NEFs in NX from time to time... those times are rapidly decreasing as I'm getting better with LR, I suspect I'll jump over to DNG eventually. The time issue is small, but still bothersome.

That said, I'm going sit this one out for at least a few days, see what happens, rather than chase solutions, downgrades etc.

Cheers, Sean
