Hi everyone,

For a while now I've been thinking about taking single images and printing them at a large size spread out over many 4x6s or 5x7s.

Is there any way to do that with LR's printing module? Any ideas would be welcome.

You mean 1 big image, printed on lots of different sheets of paper? I think splitting in PS is probably a bit more practical.

Hi Victoria,

Yep, that's exactly what I mean.

I think splitting in PS is probably a bit more practical.

Have you used PS for this purpose? Is there a precise way of splitting an images into "mini-images" that are used for printing?

I think there was a script around at some point, but I'd probably just use Guides to split it equally, and then save off those sections one at a time.

I see you have an Epson 22''... I have an older Epson 128' and its driver lets you do that automatically from a single print job of one image. This way, I can go 4'-'" x 6'-'".

I did find this last night: http://homokaasu.org/rasterbator/. It's a very interesting app, but I'm looking for something that doesn't actually changes the image. I just want it enlarged and sliced/tiled.

Thanks. I'd rather have something that takes a high-res TIFF and slices it, so that I'm not tied to a particular printer.

But I'll look at that and see if it I can use it. If I don't find what I'm looking for, I may just sit down and wrap an app to do it.

I appreciate your idea.
