In the External Editor settings, for TIFF, there is a selection for Compression and the type of compression. Is compression required and if so, which option?
Thanks
Pat
No. Compression is not required. It's available to save space. However, not all external editors will accept compressed TIFFs so you need to check that.
It should be pointed out that like all compression, it saves space, but at the expense of processing time. So less space taken in storage and fewer bytes to move onto and off of disk, but more processing power is required for compression/decompression.
