Thumbnail colour changed when selected

Hi,

I have a few sunset shots with quiet intense oranges and reds.
When I look at them in the filmstrip they have the vivid colour.

However, when I select one LR shows the full size with the rich colours, then something happens and they lighten, both the full size and the thumb in the filmstrip.

I know that it must be doing some auto-processing, but I cannot see where it is to turn it off.

Have you rendered standard or 1:1 previews?
If not do so by (in library) select all then use the drop down "library" menu and Previews>render either standard or 1:1. I just render standard and at import which I find much easier

Suffice to say what's happening is that you are seeing the embedded JPG from the file, and then the Lightroom rendered file. Use a Preset with added vibrance and contrast to get the same look after import.

Look at http://inside-lightroom.com for some presets that emulate camera settings and apply them in the Develop Settings part of Import.
