Thinking of upgrading from LR 3.6 and wondered ....

Which Version should I opt for........ ? Simpleton User here. There seem to have been some Issues with recent Releases (or am I wrong).

HAVE copied ALL Images onto a Remote Storage Device, as further back-up to those held on the Hard Drive (as also upgrading my PC to much faster etc machine)

Do I need to set-up a New Catalog (to replace the last used one 2010.09.25).

IF so - how, pls .... ?

IF NOT - What should I do, then .... ?

The latest production version is LR 4.2. This is the version you should buy as upgrade to your LR 3.6. When you install and open LR 4.2 for the first time, it will find your LR 3.6 catalog. With your permission, it will read the LR 3.6 catalog, and create a duplicate catalog that is in the LR 4.x structure. From this point, you will use the LR4.2 catalog as master.
