The numbers do not match

I have enclosed a screen shot. As you can see, the file( 2''8-'9-27) says there are 199 images. I have the file opened and I only see 18!!!! what is happening here????

One of my favourite improvements in LR3 is that filters don't hang around between LR sessions. Too often I've gone to a folder and had a heart attack when I don't see the pictures I expected - all because I filtered the folder 6 months ago.
