Synchronize not working?

I've just loaded LR2 onto a new Mac laptop and I'm already having trouble Synching folders.

I have a folder called "Lightroom Files" which on my desktop only has 6 folders in it , but for some reason lightroom is displaying 7 folders ( although 1 of the folders appears to be a dupe using the same name as the original but with a capital letter at the start) I'm not sure were this dupe came from and for some reason I can't synchronize the folder.

If I choose the "lightroom Files" folder and right click to synch, the remove missing files is greyed out.

I can't delete them from the desk top either as they are not there!!!

Thanks in advance for anyone who can solve this.

If you select the weird duplicate folder, does LR think it has any files in it? And if so, do they have question marks on them?

Hi Victoria,

bet you wish you hadn't told me about the synch folder trick earlier today!

The dupe folder has dupes of the images as well, same number and with out any question marks.

Early today I was showing a client the images in the folder and when I tried to compare two shots I seemed to accidently delete them instead ( just the two) but now I have two folders both with the original number of files in them.

Worked a treat Clive.

Ok, when you look at the glyn folder and the Glyn folder, do either set of photos have Develop adjustments (or other adjustments), and do either set of photos have question marks in the corners of the thumbnails?

No question marks at all - but all the images (in both folders) show develop tags. Which is puzzling as the images where made on my main system and then the jpegs were put onto the laptop for a viewing, so other than running as a slide show ( with my set up as a preset) none of these images have been "developed" by LR.

If they're identical, I'd just tend to delete off whichever folder doesn't use the same capitalization as the folder on the hard drive.
