It appears that my Lightroom catalog is trying to sync 859 photos - but it never seems to move forward. What do I do?

I had a similar issue, but with only five images. I was given a "workaround" pending a fix from Adobe courtesy of the Ask Tim Grey daily email newsletter: Preferences-->Lightroom Sync--> depress & hold the Alt key (Option for Mac) click on "Rebuild Sync Data"-->Continue.

That fix works for me, but I've had to do it at least three times. Obviously a bug that needs to be fixed!
