Switch between Raw and JPEG on top of stack?

Is there a keyboard shortcut to switch which is the top image?
Or is there even a way to split them apart so comparisons between the two is easy?

Shift S moves to the top of the stack, Shift [ and ] move the image in the stack.

Use I to show filename and you'll see the extension. Also make sure you've Filename set in the view options Ctrl/Command J.

My favourite stacking shortcut isn't a keyboard shortcut - if the click on the little stack number in the top left corner of the thumbnail, it'll move that photo to the top of the stack.

The shifts dont seem to switch, and I cannot see the little number to click on either; these arent stacks I am trying to shift, but between the RAW and the JPEG which is taken at the same time.

Do you have LR showing the raw and JPEG as separate photos? If not, there's no way to do this. If so, I think these suggestions should work, assuming the raw and JPEG are stacked together.

No, there are not separate photos. I just would like to be able to put the JPEG on top rather than the RAW.

Simon, what I think Mark is referring to is that there are two ways to import files which have been shot as raw and JPG. These depend upon the setting of
"Treat JPEG files next to raw files as separate photos", which is accessed thru Edit > Preferences > Import tab.

If this box is checked, then the raw and JPG files are imported as completely separate image files. If the box is unchecked, the raw file will be imported, and the JPG file will be treated as an attached sidecar file, for the purposes of file management, moving, etc.

If your images display a file type of 'CR2 + JPG' , or 'NEF + JPG' etc. then you have imported the image with the separate files box unchecked. You cannot use LR to manipulate the JPG in that case. You would have to 'Remove' the raw + JPG pair, and reimport as separate files to gain access to the JPG.

I hope I'm understanding your situation correctly.
