Hi,
I have MacBook and a 1TB external SSD to store image files. LRc is running fine with it. I backup by MacBook with Time Machine to my NAS and my NAS is backed up weekly to IDrive cloud storage. MacBook also has iDrive and has scheduled back to IDrive (not really necessary I know.
My problem is that iDrive cannot backup an attached ext drive. My Synology NAS uses the iDrive client. I do not any way to the NAS to map to the SSD.
Does anybody have a neat way to either:
a. Have the external SSD backed up onto the NAS or
b. Back up an ext SSD somewhere else

You can add your EHD to the TimeMachine Backup provided the target Disk has enough room for the total backup.

By default external disks are excluded from the default TimeMachine backup. If you go to the Excluded folders list you can remove the EHD.

For extra Time Machine backups you can add a second target disk and TimeMachine will alternate backups between the targets.

I have my images stored on an EHD and TimeMachine backs up my primary disk and the EHD to my NAS and again to another TimeMachine EHD mounted locally.

Doh! I see that the Ext SSD is included in the Time Machine . Thank you it is so simple!. The whole Time Machine backs up to the NAS and that is scheduled by Synology iDrive to the cloud. So that gives me a fair backup strategy.

Thanks once again Cletus
