Strange processing of RAW images after import

Hi everybody,

I have imported my last photo session in LR 2.' and photos look terrible after processing (2 sec after viewing the photo). I tried to import with General-Zeroed processing and others, it doesn't help. I am using Nikon D4', 2'' ISO, 1/64'-1'''. I was importing photos before many times from the same camera with no problem at all, but this time I was using studio flashes with soft-boxes.
Photoshop does the same. Google picassa can see them without no problem!

That's how it looks after processing:

That is before the processing (1-2 seconds and then it is processed)

Hi Victoria,

I have read this topic, I understand that the second image is probably a JPG that is hiding inside NEF but I don't understand why I didn't meet that problem before. In fact, some pictures from this photo session are imported and recognised correctly.

Any ideas?

Now that does sound weird. I'm on a dodgy internet connection at the moment, so I hadn't previously looked at the screenshots, but I agree something odd is going on.

For a start, I'd suggest updating to 2.6, as there were some big bugs in 2.'. In the process, you'll also gain access to the new profiles, which will give you a closer match with the standard default settings (not general-zero'd).

And if that doesn't do the trick, I'd love to have a look at one of the original files and see if I can replicate it here. I should have decent internet access again from tomorrow onwards, so perhaps I can download the original from somewhere? Feel free to PM or email me a link if you'd prefer not to post it here.

There was a bug a long time ago with selecting profiles that didn't exist for the camera that rendered kinda like that. If you take one of these into Develop and select different profiles, does it go away?

And there were some weird artifact bugs that have been fixed between 2.' and 2.6, so if Mark's suggestion doesn't work, definitely try 2.6.

I'll reply to your email tomorrow once the broadband's installed.
