Hi All

I am experiencing a very strange issue sometimes with LR21 which goes like this;

I view a folder of images, say on my internal Mac drive, and for a few seconds the images in the directory are viewable but then all of a sudden they disappear and LR shows me the 'No Photo Selected' message in the center of the screen. This, despite there being the same number of images shown in the directory on the Library view left hand info pane.

It also happens when I click on the image to zoom in, when the 'rendering large preview' message goes off, so does the image disappear.

Can anyone explain what's happening here please? I have added a screen capture showing what I mean. You can see there are 381 images in the directory, and on the lower filmstrip you can see the thumbnails so they are there, yet the main screen shows 'No Image Selected'.

Thanks.

Perhaps you also have a filter enabled?

Try Ctrl-L to turn off filters.

Hi Paige

No, there's no filters turned on at all, I made sure of that. What I have done though is to rebuild the previews which seems to have done the trick. I have only tested this very quickly as I am in a rush to go out, but doing the same as I did before, the images don't disappear.

I shall keep this updated with news if anything else goes wrong. Thanks for the reply.

I see there are two similar catalogs one named "general" and the other "General". Something similar happened to me in the past with LR2.'. My solution was to create a new folder with a different name and move to it all what I found in the similarly named folders. Then I removed the now empty similarly named folders and renamed the new folder as it should be.

I think this is related to the so called "ghost folder" bug but this was solved in LR2.1.
