This just started happening in the last day or so.

When using the quick reply box at the end of a thread, if I type something and hit POST I get an error: Your session timed out while posting. Please try to re-submit your message. However, if I press PREVIEW and then POST it works.

So it looks like something has happened to prevent the quick reply function from working in Safari. I tested it in firefox and the issue does not appear to happen there.

Oh, this also happens when posting a new topic (as I just discovered while posting this!)

UPDATE: I cannot logout of the forums from Safari anymore either.

Hm... just tested logging out and it worked. I also posted this reply in the quick reply box, and it worked as well. Not sure what might be going on here...

Thanks, Ian. Maybe it's something local after all (but I can't think of what it may be :-\ ).

When I try and logout I get:

Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again.

So it appears to be a local problem. I tried this on my MBP and it worked just fine.

However, on my iMac the problem persists. I've cleared caches, dumped history, removed the cookies. No solution. I will keep trying to find out why this particular installation of Safari is doing this. If I find a solution I'll post it in case some one else comes across the same problem.

It's always frustrating to have one computer behaving out of the ordinary. I've been there many times.

Try removing any references to the site in your keychain and log in again.

Isn't that the truth! LOL

I haven't been able to fix it but I do find that hitting refresh twice brings me to the expected screen. The problem appears to be common on the SMF forums.

Yep another user with exactly the same problem as Gene. Using Safari 3.2.1. Works fine in Firefox..
