Stopping LR from starting when you connect a USB drive

Is there a way to stop LR from starting whenever I connect a USB drive to my system? It is a nuisance.

The knowledgebase info is written for XP

The KB infor is wriiten for XP. Some of the choices given do not exist in Vista. I can do one of them, but it will only apply to the current Windows session, not stop the behavior permanently.
