When I import my pictures they all have 5 star ratings. Is there a setting that I need to change so that they are loaded with no rating and then I can give each shot the rating I want, rather than removing the 5 stars as a group. I can't find anything on this in a ny book. Thanks in advance for your help.

Are you applying a Metadata preset with you Copyright notice and other info. If so it needs cleaning up. You inadvertantly inculde a Five Star Rating with it.

Thank you. I had the copyright chosen on the download. I have searched books for this answer and couldn't find the solution. I really appreciate your help.

If you made a metadata preset to add Copyright on import you need to edit it to only by Copyright and whatever else you relay want . Uncheck the checkboxes for fields you don't need in the preset and be sure to scroll all the way down in the preset to not miss any like keywords and ratings you don't want regularly applied on import.
