Star ratings on import

When I import Raw files (any file type actually), all files automatically get a 5 star rating.

I've checked the preferences, but I'm not sure what I'm missing to import with no ratings automatically applied.

Are you applying a metadata preset on import? If so, your metadata preset probably includes the 5-star rating. Let us know if you need help clearing that up.

And the other thing to look for is whether the files have been through any other program first, which could have assigned star ratings. Mark's suggestion is more likely though!

Sorry for the delay in answering, my Mac has been acting up. I was indeed applying a metadata preset on import, and it mistakenly included the 5-star rating.
