Stacking is a very good way to keep TIF files with the original raw file.
So i wanna do this, but here is the problem.
I have a collection with raw files that i have select for my client.
My client want some TIF, so i want to export the files to TIF.
But there is no option to stack the TIF with the original raw file.
But then if i go to the catalog "all photographs" i got the option to stack with original.
The reason i have made a collection for my client is to have all the files in one catalog, and then export the files as RAW.
I think i could add keyword to the images, and use the filter, and then maybe it will work i will try this.
But it would have been better to use the collection to do this.

Scott Kelby write in his book that the stack only are available within the folders panel.
That might explain it, but it would be nice to have this in the collection panel to.

This was interesting, almost schizophrenia discussing with my self :D
But i did find my way around, i give the images in the collection a special keyword, then i search for them in the main catalog, and from there i can export a TIF ore JPG, and stack it to the original rawfile.
It would be easier to do this directly from the collection, that is what collections should be used to.

LOL Kai! You did have an interesting conversation while we all slept!

I would assume that the lack of stacking in collections would be far more complicated - because a photo may be in any number of collections, and not all of the stack would necessarily be there. It's probably something that can be worked about in the future, but don't hold your breath right now.

Hello Victoria, i must say that it feels like i am very close to a perfect work flow with lightroom no.
I have been working with stacks for two days and it feels so good and so right.
This is what i do, i sort out the images for my client, for a slideshow ore whatever.
I store my selected images in a collection, in the collection i give the images a special keyword.
The next thing to do is making a TIF ore a jpg of the images, i then filter out those images with the keyword that i added.
Ok, no i have all my selected images, i have already made my adjustments in the export page, so all exported images will be stacked with the original. In this matter i dont have to think of making a folder for storing my developed files. I just hit CTR E, and thats it. When i am finish in Photoshop i dont have to save the images in a special folder, i just save it, and thats it.
I find this way of work wery interesting, and how do i find my TIF files that i made for my client, smart folders, every image with that special keyword and beeing a TIF file ends in that smartcolection with the clients name.
Then it is easy to export all the TIF files to a dvd ore whatever.

It would be interesting to here if other finds this interesting.
If i want to i can make a smart collection that contains all of my TIF files also.

The reasen for keeping my TIF files is that i tweek them in Photoshop.
There are som finishing things that i still do in Photoshop, and i dont want to do this more than ones to my images.
Thats why it is so great to stack them with the original RAW file, then i will se right away if theres alredy a TIF file made. And i have all my JPG, TIF PSD in one place, and i dont end up with duplicates of them.

I am so happy with Lightroom :D
