Stacking problems when photo as been in CS4

Hi
I am using an external hard drive for my lightroom catalogues, and all of my photos in my library are on this drive. Until recently I have had no problems. Now when I go into Photoshop CS4 to do further work on a DNG file, and ask Photoshop to save it, it does not appear next to the original photo in a stack, ( I do have stack with original ticked) but has transferred to the bottom of my folders under a new heading of the hard drive. When I try to move it back up to the original file, it states that its already in the library, which I agree it is. But not next to the original.
Can anybody help?

Hi BJP, welcome to the forum!

Is your profile correct - Windows Vista and LR 1.'? Or what version are you working on?

It sounds like LR's got a bit confused about the folder paths. Don't worry, we should be able to get that sorted for you, with a bit more information.

Ok, LR2.... updated to the latest 2.6?

Can you post a screenshot of the folders panel? That'll help us give you specific advise to get it sorted out.
