Spyder2 calibration profile for 64-bit system

I've just upgraded to Win 7 64-bit and am now running Lr 2.6 64-bit since upgrading Windows. My question is this:

When I calibrate my display using my Spyder2, should the color profile be written to the same location as when running under 32-bit windows? Or does the Spyder software know more than I and should I trust it to be writing it to the correct location?

If you go into Display, Properties, Advanced, Color and you see the Spyder2 generated profile, then it is at the right place... I don't have or use Win7 tough.

The applet is now found quickest using the Control Panel <Control Panel><Color Management>

Thanks, Cletus. However, I don't see any option like <Control Panel><Color Management> in my control panel; I have the general category "Change the Appearance..." and that does not include <Color Management>. It does, however, include the NVidia Control Panel listing. Should it be there?

You should have a "View by:" pull down right above "User Accounts and Family Safety". Choose "Large Icons" and it will uncover the hierarchy.

[/quote]Change your view from "Category" to Large or Small Icons. Or on the Start menu, Change the option for <Control Panel> to "Display as a Menu" or Navigate here C:WindowsSystem32colorcpl.exe I'm sure it must be in one of the "category" Listings but I can't tell you how to navigate there using the Standard Category view. Microsoft keeps dumbing down the User interface and this is not always a good thing unless you are a 'Dumb user"
Lately I have been using the "God Mode" Folder trick and don't even get involved with the Control Panel to run these types of settings applets

Perfect! The hierarchy now shows <Color Management> and clicking on that option reveals the Spyder2 profile just where it should be! Very reassuring!
