Another image count option to be aware of, with the “Filmstrip” open at the bottom of the screen (F6 toggle), the top edge could show:

13 photos - Total images showing

10 of 13 photos – Total images showing and those in the folder, including those hidden (Stacked) usually Virtual Copies

13 photos/ 2 selected -Total images showing & number selected

10 of 13 photos / 2 selected - Total images showing and those in the folder including those hidden (Stacked) usually Virtual Copies & number selected

If you have none selected (ctl+D), then filter on Xed images, select them all (ctl+A) then remove the filter, the Filmstrip display would show the count of all images and the selected images, where the selected would be your Xed images count. Or, you could just select each Xed image as they are Xed.

Lightroom's great, isn't it?

Once you've set this Library Filter view, hit Ctrl L to filter it on and off.

John Beardy display is super....

As well as getting counts ....it displays how simple it is to select all of the images from any of those groups..
ie. Select the rejected because you want to double check your selection for deletion is ok ....or ...
Select all unflagged as you wish to review these and not to consider rejects or selects ... and lots of other combos.
