Some scrolling no longer works

First of all, apologies for making my first post on this most useful forum a question :-[

For some reason I cannot understand, I can no longer scroll along the filmstrip using the wheel on my mouse button. It used to work. Scrolling in the library module works (main screen in the middle with big thumbnails). I'm pretty sure I used to be able to scroll on the left and right menus too, but that's gone as well.

I downloaded the LR3 beta and scrolling works everywhere.

I could try reinstalling, but a bit confused as to why it no longer works all of a sudden. LR 2.6 btw.

Any ideas?

tf, welcome to the forums.

The Standard Troubleshooting steps are here. Read the whole post, but concentrate on step #4. That can solve a lot of 'weirdness' problems, like the one you're encountering.

If that doesn't help, let us know.

I deleted the prefs file and no difference, well, at first it did fix the problem, or so I thought:

It appears to be a bug: when I have the main LR window on my primary monitor, it's OK, but if I move it to my secondary monitor, that's where the scrolling functionality is lost!

When I deleted the prefs file, it fixed the problem because when LR relaunched, it did so on my primary monitor. Tried scrolling, yay it works!
Move my windows around so the main LR window is on my secondary monitor, scrolling no longer works! At least we now know why

edit: just tried on LR3 beta, and it's the same problem. When I initially said it worked, it's because the main screen was on my primary monitor. I just tried moving it to my secondary, and bingo, no more scrolling!
