[solved] White Balance in thumbnails

Hi!
I've just started with Lightroom. I noticed that when I open a RAW photo for the first time in the catalogue, it has a different color temperature (more cold) than I could previously see in the thumbnail (which also changes to the new color temperature then). Often, actually the previous color temperature looks better to me than the one after viewing the photo, but I couldn't reproduce it using the preset white balance options. Might be possible to achieve it with manual settings, but I'm wondering why this happens?

It makes sense, I just didn't know there is an actual jpeg preview embedded. Unfortunately there seem to be only profiles for Nikon and Canon available in LR (have a Fuji) and Fuji's own RAW converter software does not really make a good impression to me. Right now I'm trying to fiddle around with the trial version of DxO, it has a profile for my S1''FS, and it's possible to develop RAW into dng. Depending on the results I can get from DxO compared to what LR gives me, I'm thinking about using it for batch preprocessing the pictures into dng and then just use Lightroom for managing and further individual adjustments.

Bear in mind that DXO's DNG isn't quite the same as a normal DNG. It's kind of a half way point.

The other thing you could consider is downloading the DNG Profile Editor. The long and the short of it is that you can build your own profiles for your Fuji cameras, and use those with the Fuji RAF files (you only convert to DNG to actually build the profile the first time). If you can buy or borrow a ColorChecker chart, that makes it even quicker to start building a profile too.

If you don't have a proper camara calibration profile in LR, you can make your own with the "color checker passport" from x-rite. It's a great package including a robust color plate and a software which automatically analyses the picture of the color plate and creates calibration profiles for camara raw and LR.
Check google, there are several reviews and also a demo video online. If you can't find them, please ask.
The price is ok - ~1'' Euro in Germany.

Alright, thanks for the hints! I will ask around my friends, maybe someone already has it or thinks about buying one as well.
