In recent times (after a few recent updates) I'm now not able to invoke Solo Mode in LRC on the right side panel. Any suggestions?

I have no trouble with Solo Mode on Windows 10.
Have you tried to reset your preferences?
If that doesn't work, exactly how is Solo Mode failing to work?

It works just fine on my Mac.

Solo mode only means the other panels are collapsed not disappear.

You should see something like this if you "solo" the Metadata Panel.

That's exactly what it used to be, but now I get all panels expanded regardless of selecting Solo Mode. So every time I open LRC I have to go in and deselect each panel to contract them - despite Solo Mode being ticked. And after using a panel again I have to deselect it rather than just open a new one.

That screen shot was taken using
Lightroom Version Number: 14.0.1
Operating System: macOS 14 Sonoma.
The same setup as you report

When I open LRC, or when I return to LRC from PS all the tabs are open; so I have to go to each one in turn and close them. It didn't used to be like this, somewhere in the last few updates I've inherited a devilish desire for all the tabs to be open

And are you aware that Solo Mode is specific to the module that is open. ie. You can have Solo Mode 'on/off' in Library and 'on/off' in Develop and likewise the Masking panels can be 'on' or 'off'.

OK Thank you found the Reset. OMG Now I need to rebuild everything!
Wish I'd never done that!
Second display has gone to the wrong monitor, and I can't seem to move it..... Grrrrr

You need to go into the preferences and reset those settings that you changed from the default. That takes a few minutes but that is no big deal. If you can’t move the secondary display, then you probably have set it to ‘full screen’. Change it to normal and it becomes a window that can be moved anywhere you want.

Thanks Johan. Finally got it all sorted. It’s not until I did the suggested reset that I nrealise how many personalisations I’ve done over the dozen-or-more years I’ve been using Lightroom.. However it’s pretty much all back to status quo. I run a 52” UW for my main and two 24” screens , one either side, and I’ve always used the RHS 24 as the 2nd screen with Grid on it; and half the UltraWide runs main panel of PS and the LHS 24” with the extra \PS panels. SO, having the LRC grid on the wrong side was decidedly discombobulating.

Yeah, mine looks like that when I manually close all the tabs.
Specifically. my problem is in the Develop Module tho'
My Develop module behaves as the Library module does. FWIW I need to see all of the develop modules panels open except for one or two that I seldom use. I have a large screen So, I never use Solo Mode.

Before resetting préferences, I would have tried the following :
- untick solo mode (to deactivate it)
- restart LrC
- tick solo mode
- enventually restart LrC
It's not sure at all it would have fixed the problem, but it's worth to try because if it had fixed it, it would have also avoided to lost all other preferences.

I’ve tried all the above, but still every time I open LRC and every time I return to LRC from PS all the panels are open. This only happens in the Develop Module. It’s not a very big deal but it’s just a nuisance having to close the panels over and over again
