Victoria: a lot of people are disappointed with the lack of softproofing... I do not really need that, but noticed that on OS X one can do a Preview via the printer driver dialog and there is a checkbox for softproofing. That is part of OS X I guess and just needs to be activated. What do you think?

Hi adias, welcome to the forum

Soft proofing's certainly a topic that's getting a lot of airtime at the moment, and I have no doubt that the Adobe team are well aware of the clamour.

OS X's soft proofing options are certainly a possibility as a workaround. I have a feeling Sean was mentioning something along these lines, so maybe he'll drop by and fill in the details for those who are interested.

Integrating it directly into LR probably isn't likely as there isn't a Windows counterpart and that would cause an awful outcry. Plus, Adobe like to do things properly if they're going to do them. Still, the team are very good at listening to feedback, so you never know when it may or may not turn up.
