As soft proofing some dark red apples, they are printing out orange other than red.
I cannot change the colour to match my IMAC/ Lightroom classic colour.
So it is my Mac or my Epson printer that would be the main influence on the discolouration?
My Epson 760 has 6 coloured inks and is a photo printer.
How would someone that really wanted an exact match of colour begin to achieve this please?

  • Do you have a good monitor and is it calibrated? This will affect how well your colors are displayed and also have well they will be translated to print
  • Are you using the ICC profile for the printer and paper? This makes sure there is a good translation of color from what you see to the print
  • Do you have LR or the printer doing the color management? I find LR generally does a better job. If LR is doing color management, make sure it's turned off in your printer. Normally LR will do that.
  • Also, if you have Preview on for printing, don't be concerned about what is displayed. It doesn't represent what will be printed
