Well my first post, I just loaded a box upgrade edition Lightroom 2 on my computer. PC running XP with sevice pack three. So far all is well, printing, brush actions and correct paper profiles in place. Keeping my finger crossed that I have no problems as time goes on. Just wanted to say hi to all.

Steve, Welcome to LR Forums. Thanks for the good news. Usually we just get problems here, not happy campers. :)

(Not completely true, we get lots of happy campers too, looking for better ways to work)

Welcome from down in the sunny South Pacific Steve !

Thanks for the welcome, there seems to be a great support center here. I am looking forword to learning a lot of new information. What is thought to be the best publication that teaches Lightroom basics?

Martin Evening's book, available anywhere
Scott Kelby's book, available anywhere
Victoria Bampton's eBook - find any post by her here, there's a coupon in her signature.

The first two are lind of like a guided tour of LR, introducing the concepts, with more or less real-life examples. Victoria's is called 'The Missing FAQ', and gives step by step directions for almost every situation imaginable. (It assumes that you know the basics, and a) have encountered problems, or b) want to get more from LR )

All three are good, one of the first two, with Victoria's added is probably best.

In the meantime, there's a tremendous amount of knowledge, tutorials and guidance available for free all over the web.
