I usually use Win7 but since my main system went down, hardware failure, I've been using my Crapbook until I can get the funds to replace my Windows machine. I made the mistake of updating to Snow Leopard and After serious issues with Snow Leopard my catalog has become un-repairable. I don't know what happened as I made sure to have Lightroom shutdown when I started having the issues. I've since gone back to Leopard but now my catalog is corrupt!

I tried to import the catalog but that came up bust. I really wish Adobe would have put some type of error reporting so you can know what and why the catalog can't be repaired and possible solutions. Needless to say I don't use the Mac too much for my photo editing and I don't have a recent back up of my catalog so any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Jaleel

Welcome, sorry you have come under these circumstances.

Do you have a backup copy of the catalog, even if it is from the PC machine? Try contacting the Adobe Tech, Dan Tull at dantull at gmail.com. He has been able to fix catalogs in the past, while learning more about them. See if he will take it on (mention us, here). If he will take it on he will let you know how to get it (zipped) to him.

Hi Jaleel, welcome to the forum!

So, just checking, what makes you say that your catalog is corrupt? There's one thing you could try - close LR and see if there's a *.lrcat.lock file next to the catalog - if there is, you can delete it (just that lock file).
