Smooth continuously scrolling slideshow

I'm trying to create a continuously smooth scrolling slideshow without padding between images and without pauses. Using the Slideshow Pro plugin trial I can almost eliminate the padding between images, but how come something as basic as not having any pauses is not available? Even setting pause to ' secs there is a 1 sec pause before the slide moves on.

Does anyone know how I can create a slideshow (to burn onto DVD, not post to web) of a continuously scrolling strip of photographs without pauses? It seems absurd that there isn't anything so basic out there.
