Regardless of my work flow in LR I have a small problem and I would like you to tell me about how you are doing.

I made a Quick Collection where I place all my "Squared Cropped Portraits". These files must be JPG, they all have a canvas and my name.
To do this all the files must go through CS because Timothy Armes' plug in doesn't do the job..

After the files are created by CS I move them to the folder where it belongs. Yes, I do not place my files all in one basket but separate them in folders like Lisbon, London, Paris and so forth.

Now suppose I want to make a book with those photos, or that I want to have a Collection with those images.
I must know where they are to get them all together and place them in my pen.
How to do this ?
I tried to sellect all the files and place them in a temporary gallery but I couldn't.
I feel I am missing something very simple to do but I am not getting there.

I know I could Export them. But this is not an option because the files would be saved again losing quality in the process.
I insert here a photo to color the thread ! :D

Thank you ! :lol::lol::up::up:

BTW: Do you by any change know who this gentleman is ?
I would like to send him this picture. He is from the Republic of Ireland. :)

Unless I'm missing something, Antonio, give them a special keyword at import time. Then set a smart collection to that keyword, to use at output time. Even if they're JPGs, Lr's standard processing won't trigger a 'lossy' save, while saving the keywords.

Thank you Brad.
I did not explain myself correctly.

Let me try again:

I have a Smart Collection to "Square Cropped Portraits" (SCP).
This smart collection receives all the files with the keyword "Square Cropped Portraits", are jps and are green.

SCP number 1 is in the folter Lisboa
SCP number 3 is in the folder London
etc.

I need to export these files to my pen, to make a book or even to print at the local shop.
I don't want to make a new catalog because in catalogs I loose the plug-ins and so forth and to return to the catalog I am used to, it is a mess. I have been there for 45 times without decent results. Shame on me perhaps

:roll:How do I export my files to my pen if they are scattered all over the computer in 23 folders, without re-saving/exporting these files ?

This is the critical question.
Did I explain myself clearly now ? Hope so.

Thank you Brad for your concern and attention. :)

First, what is pen? I'm assuming you mean something like USB solid state drive, in the US we say thumbdrive, or jumpdrive.

If I understand, the files are processed from Lr to CS, and then back as standalone JPG files? The JPGs in question have ben re-imported to LR simply for file-management, and not image adjustement?

If that's the case, proceed as you have, and choose the 'Original' export format, which will copy out the JPG, without any re-save compression.

Or, am I still missing something? :) ( I wish my Portuguese was as good as your English, but I have none at all :( )

I didn't even thought that pen is thumbdrive or jumpdrive in English or USA.
In fact, I didn't know it ! Thank you Brad
No Brad you are not missing anything. But one last question: Where is that "Original" export format ?
Or do you mean "Burn Full-Sized JPGs" under Export / Lightroom Presets ?

I have done it it works all right but ... doesn't it re-save the file ?
If it doesn't then that's it ! the solution.:D

Thank you so much Brad.:up::lol:
Portuguese is similar to Spanish. We can understand Spanish and they can understand us in spite of differences in character - generally speaking.:D

I have exported some files under this LR preset.
It does save again, yes.
A file with 85' K became a file with 1,5 Mb.

To try I have gathered all the pictures with the keyword "Square Croped Portratis" pointing at the little arrow near the number and I selected all of them with Command A.
Then I could move them to a temporary folder to send for printing.
I have not done so. I thought: how after this am I going to place these pictures back where they belonged, where they are now in so many folders ?
I tried to press Alt and drag at the same time but it doen't work.

To make a book the solution is a piece of cake: I go to the web to my home page and collect the pictures from there.
But if I want to transport them to a jumpdrive ?

There must be a solution.:lol:
Thank you :up::mrgreen::up:
