The thumbnails in the grid view have a little icon in the upper right corner when the metadata for the file has been changed but not written to the XMP (or whatever) files.

Is it possible to create a LR2 Smart Collection, or maybe a filter, that will find all such images?

Hi,

I was looking for exactly the same thing tonight, but was unable to find a way to select this metadata field. It appears we are out of luck.

Thanks,
Matt

I have requested this before, around the time of 1.1 when speed was a real issue and everyone switched off 'autowrite xmp'.

There are ways around it, but clunky.
1. Sort by edit time will allow you to see them in sequential order. Multiple work sessions/folders makes this harder.
2. Just select all images and hit save - only the images that require metadata changes to be updated are worked on by LR. I am just not comfortable with this for some reason.

I like to work in a way where i do not auto writing to xmp, and often i am working in multiple folders in one session. At the end of a session, being able to click on the top root folder "my pictures" and hit a filter to find these images would save some hassle. Also, it would be nice to see what work one has accomplished in a session.

Metadata filter or smart collection would work, although i think for consistancy, the former is more logical.
