Slow to open, slow operations

Dell xps15 9550 (1TB, 32 G)

Everything else on the computer works fine. May have started after an update of ACR

Been having issues with slow to open and editing slower than it used to be. I've tried several different things and now am wondering if I should just remove LR and do a fresh install. I assume there is minimal risk of not being able to connect to my current photos/catalog.

Does anyone have experience with attempting to solve their issues this way and any success?
