We are having a problem when we close LR Classic as it takes up to 10 minutes to close up. I have no other performance issues with LR when I am working with it but it takes a long time to shut down. Any ideas would be welcomed.

Are your closing with or without a backup? If a backup, can you notice what it says it's doing for a long time e.g. verifying.

Let me tell you what I just did. We opened LR and then closed it without doing anything else. When the dialog came up we selected Backup and started the process. It took about 3 minutes while it was copying, then it was optimizing till the 5 minute mark and then it started compressing for almost a minute. So the entire process took about 6 minutes and we had done nothing in the LR Catalogue other than open and then close it with backup.

Ken I only have one Catalog and have always had one
I understand. But I am suggesting that you create a test catalog to see if the problem is with LR or with your specific catalog. Create it and add some copies of a few photos to it, You can delete the test catalog afterwards.
