Slideshow resolution - why soft?

Hello,
I have LR v 1.3 on a desktop PC and a laptop PC. When running the impromptu slideshow the first few pics are sharp, but the remaining pics are very soft.

Is this a memory problem? Can I avoid the problem by exporting a slideshow?

Try 1:1 rendering the selected images first. If that doesn't help, let us know.

Thanks. Not sure where I render in 1:1. I see that in the Navigator window, but that's one at a time. Tried highlighting all the slideshow pics and chosing 1:1 but it doesn't solve the problem. I searched help and looked for a rendering setting in the Slideshow module, but still no luck...

Library Menu/Library/Previews > Render 1:1 Previews or from a Contextual Menu with images selected.
