Slideshow - Play - Fade

Does anyone know how to "manually" advance an image in Lightroom slideshow and get the fade setting to activate. What usually happens when I press the right arrow key is that the image changes rapidly, there is no fade.

Fade seems to work only on auto PLAY. Am I missing something?

I think it assumes that if you advance to the next frame manually you don't want to wait for the set slide duration so you don't want to wait for the fade either.
