Slide show with music

Today I was very happy because I could do a slide show very quickly with iPhoto.
When I exported it the only format available was/is *.mov
I was not aware that Windows doesn't read this kind of files and I passed the slide show to my wife to have a look at her computer.
Her machine runs on Windows and she couldn't see the slide show.
However, she managed to convert the mov into mpeg but the result was bad. Clever girl

Now, that I would like to buy a portable computer I begin to think if Mac is the one to choose.

Then, as I can't make slide shows in iPhoto because they are not usable in Windows, I turned to LR.
Here, to make a slide show with music we need the Acrobat Professional.

Is there any less expensive way to make a slide show ?
Acrobat professional is so expensive...

What am I missing here ?

Antonio, why not a flash slideshow that will run in any web browser - just use the Web module instead of Slideshow. SlideShow Pro and TTG Monoslideshow both do a nice job.

I am not very clever with computers and the more programs I get into, the more I have difficulties ...
I would rather stay in the same program.
I do have seen Slideshow Pro. It looks great indeed. The other one - TTG Monoslideshow I will go and have a look.

Well... I found something quite interesting...
2' US$ = 14.5' € Great !

And Slideshow Pro for 18 € Great !

At first glance Slideshow Pro looks quite easy to work with.:lol:

The great thing is they both have Lightroom interfaces, so it's not like you're having to learn a whole new program.

I am happy to tell you that you can make cross platform movies.

How?
Export from iPhoto, just the same as you did before,
Now open the .mov file in quicktime, then then export it in the format you need.
Yes windows is supported.
