Show import dialog box when memory card is detected

I am using Lightroom V 2.4. I have the box checked "Show Import Dialog box when memory card is detected". However, nothing happens. This seems to be a new occurance since I installed V2. I have deleted previous versions of lightroom. Any suggestions. I can still import, but checking the box in preferences has no effect.

There is a known bug in 2.4 on Windows such as when someone do not want the Import Dialog when inserting a card and uncheck the option, the import dialog continues to pop!

They would be glad to know that if they check the option to have it, it will stop to appear!

So... what if you remove the check mark?... :

Bart, Welcome to the forums. I see I'm simul-posting with Denis.

Well, that's new. With v2.4, there's a bug, a result of which, most folks can't make that feature go away.

Do you have any other Adobe software installed/running? If so, check and see if apdproxy.exe is running at Windows startup, and disable that. (Although that usually causes the opposite problem as well.)

There is a thread in the Adobe Lightroom user to user forum which was started on June 3'th 2''9, concerning this issue, 7,393 views and 96 replies, no resolution just hope it gets corrected in the next release.

[/quote]It seems this bug is opposite the problem described by the OP. The OP needs to check Windows Autoplay for the card drive to make sure it is LR that gets first access to any Pictures when the card is inserted.

On my system, every time i open the preferences, the box is re-checked. Seems the preferences are not holding.

Word on the sly from some 'insiders' is that the unchecking does stick and the program successfully exits. The check mark is made to reappear on the next launch of Lightroom.
